I think about this challenge – to pray Truth for our kids – and I get excited! What a gift we have been given: to be able to approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4), to be welcomed by a Father who invites us to come and ask, believing that He will answer!

I get excited to think about what God is going to do in and through us as we faithfully seek Him on behalf of our families!

“He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…To HIM be glory…throughout all generations, for ever and ever!” (Ephesians 3:20-21)

we are not doing this alone. We pray TOGETHER. claiming God's WORD for our kids #prayTruthKids

A community is growing – a community of wives praying for their husbands, moms and dads praying for their kids, grandparents praying for their grandkids, and we are not praying alone. We are wrapping our arms around one another, seeking God together on behalf of these people we fiercely love.

God gave us the body of Christ. He created us for community, and that is who we will be.

To join this community of moms and dads and grandparents just like you,

  1. get the prayers and images in your inbox or keep up with the abridged version on instagram or Facebook
  2. share these images from the challenge and your own prayer images on social media using the hashtag #prayTruthKids. But don’t just pray and post. Visit others using the hashtag and take a moment to pray for them, too, leaving a comment to let them know you did.

Encouraging one another will help us all follow through faithfully. We will gain courage from each other and from our shared stories of God’s mighty moving. We pray together!

TOGETHER we are praying God's Word for our Kids

We will start and we will be committed.

Today’s format will be a little bit different from the rest of the challenge, but I want first and foremost to make our commitment before the Lord and ask for His strength to complete it.

Will you join me in this prayer of commitment?

Lord, we come humbly before you, and we commit to praying for our children and our families this month.

Distractions and busyness and all sorts of interference will threaten to sidetrack us, but our hearts’ desire is to stay committed. Help us to encourage one another, to remain faithful, and to seek you!

As we do, we ask you, Lord, to show up! We know that you are always with us, and you are always at work, but open our eyes and our hearts to see you moving, to witness you working.

We also know, Lord, that sin in our lives hinders our prayers. When we cherish sin in our hearts, you will not listen (Psalm 66:18), so we take time now to be quiet before you. Bring to our minds any sin we have not yet confessed, that we might confess it before you and be forgiven, cleansed, and in right relationship with you (1 John 1:9).

Father, you said that if we ask anything in Your name, according to Your will, we will receive it (John 14:13-14). We need you, Father, to be working in the hearts of our children and on behalf of our families.

You, O God, are able! You are able to do immeasurably more…immeasurably more…than we could ask or even imagine. You have proven yourself faithful time and time again.

Do it once more, dear Lord. In the lives of our families and our children, do it once more!

We thank you now for how you will work. We don’t know specifically what to expect – we submit ourselves to your will – but we expect great things because You are a great God!

We pray these things in the name of Jesus and for His glory, Amen!

Personal Reflection

  • What do you think your biggest distraction or barrier will be as you commit to this challenge? How do you plan to overcome it?
  • What are you hoping God will do through this challenge? Be honest. Open up your heart before the Lord, lift up your hopes and the desires of your heart and surrender your expectations and surrender yourself, trusting GOD to work in ways you didn’t even know you needed.
